COARSE CABOCHONS

These Cabochons are made by ethnic rural folk in South India, therefore, their finish is coarse, and sizes are bigger than usual with the dome being more pronounced. Roughs such as Star Ruby, Sapphire, Ruby, Fuchsite, Garnet are found in Mysore, South India.

These cabs are most suitable for providing an ethnic touch to any project they are used in. The stones are genuine and not altered or enhanced in any way. They are also free from damage such as pits, lines, cracks or fills other than natural behavior of the stone, and are also cheaper than other cabochons made in the cities. There are several other shapes made by these tribes such as Hexagons and contour faceting and sizing, these will soon be uploaded on this page.
